Kayak Tour, Wood-Tikchik State Park Explore the largest State Park un the US with 1.6 million acres. Wood Tikchik is a netword of rivers and lakes that are connected. This area is close to the proposed Pebble Mine that is threatening the Bristol Bay wild Salmon.In the fall the area explodes with the most beatiful fall colours.We will fly from Anchorage to Dillingham on a scheduled flight on Pen Air. From here a small plane will take us and our gear to the upper lake Kulik on the Wood Tickchik Lakes chain. We will spend two weeks exploring the rich wildlife and paddling in folding kayaks to Lake Aleknagik.Join us on this extened exploration by kayak in the largest State Park in the US with 1.7 million acres. From Lake Kulik we will paddle down the Class II Wind River to the smallMikchalk Lake, then down the 2 mile Class I Peace River to Lake Beverley and down 2 miles on Agulukpak River to LakeNerka then descend 5 miles on Class I Agulowak River to Lake Aleknagik and if time allows all the way another 20 miles on to Dillingham on the Wood River. season: August/September duration: 14 days difficulty: daily paddling, often rainy weather of the Southwest, overnighting in tents
Kajak Tour “Savonoski Loop” Katmai National Park, Bear Viewing
Katmai is famous for its Grizzly Bears. If you don't like to be in a crowd overlooking Brooks Falls in Brooks Camp join us on ths Paddle from the Bay of Islands to Grosvenor Lake and down the Savonoski River and see bears feeding on Salmon in the river. We will use folding kayaks. After a scheduled flight from Anchorage to King Salmon a float plane will drop us off at Bay of Islands. From here we start our kayaking trip on our own schedule. We will set up a camp at night and enjoy the days with paddling and wildlife viewing in a quiet setting without other tourists. season: June-September duration: 7 days difficulty: overnighting in tents, daily paddling, remote area
Kayaking Trips in Prince William Sound Port Nellie Juan, College Fjord, Harriman Fjord, Blackstone Bay We start our trip from the small World War II aera town of Whittier. After a scenic drive along Turnagain Arm and crossing the railroad tunnel we take a water taxi ride to our kayaking destination. We will see calving glaciers, paddle among blue ice bergs and watch a variety of wildlfe such as whales, sea lions, sea otters, sea birds, puffins. Port Nellie Juan, a long fingerlike bay with towering granite peaks surrounding us with its nickname Yosemite of the North. We will set up camp and explore and paddle in the daytime. season: May duration: 7-10 days
Twin Lakes Kayaking & Hiking, Lake Clark National Park
Pristine wilderness and the legacy of Dick Proeneke who spent 30 years alone in this wilderness,awaits us underneath jagged peaks and crystal clear waters of Twin Lakes. This area is only accessable by bushplane and one of Alaska's vast and untouched National Parks. With folding kayaks we will explore this area that is home to bears, moose, caribou and more. We will enjoy the solitude in this magnificent land a hike and explore hidden valleys, tundra, waterfalls and enjoy nature in the spirit of Dick Proenneke. From Anchorage we will take a scnic bush flight to the small community of Port Alsworth and from there a short bushflight to the Twin Lakes area. season: June-August duration: 7 days Circle Revillagigedo Island in Misty Fjords
This is an extended kayaking adventure in Southeast Alaska in the well protected waters of Misty Fjords National Monument a region home to bald eagles, brown bear, Sitka black-tailes deer. We will circumnavigate this island and cover a total of 150 miles in our kayaks.
